Agnirva Space Premier League - Expedition #30306: STeP-UP: How University Partnerships Are Propelling Space Education

The Joint Global Multi-Nation Birds Project’s evolution into the STeP-UP (Space science Technology Education and Proliferation through University Partnership) initiative marks a leap in global academic collaboration. This project, under the guidance of Paul Jason Co at the University of the Philippines-Diliman and developed by Japan's Kyushu Institute of Technology, brings together young engineers from different countries to design, build, and launch cube satellites. These small spacecraft serve as powerful educational tools, offering hands-on experience with satellite systems and mission operations. By integrating this process into university-level curricula, STeP-UP expands opportunities for students in emerging space nations. The 69th ISS Expedition provided a platform for these satellites to enter orbit, proving that with mentorship and collaboration, any nation can reach for the stars. STeP-UP demonstrates how strategic academic partnerships and real missions can elevate STEM education worldwide.
