Agnirva Space Premier League - Expedition #31165: When Students Became Space Scientists: Kids In Microgravity-2

Building on the success of the first 'Kids In Micro-gravity' program, NASA launched the sequel project during Expeditions 25 through 28. This time, the experiment grew larger, involving more schools and more diverse scientific questions from students.

Under the guidance of principal investigator Trinesha Dixon, classrooms collaborated with NASA scientists to understand what kinds of experiments could be effectively conducted in microgravity. Students learned how to formulate scientific questions, design methods, and analyze results—skills central to real-world science.

From testing the physics of spinning tops to understanding how magnets behave in space, the experiments were fun, educational, and illuminating. Astronauts performed the student-designed tests onboard the ISS, while students watched the results unfold back on Earth.

These hands-on learning experiences not only clarified scientific concepts but also gave students a rare opportunity to contribute to real space science. They saw how their curiosity could translate into actual space research, fostering a lifelong interest in STEM.
