The 'NanoRacks-Valley Christian High School-Wisconsin Fast Plant Growth in a Vibration Environment Experiment' explored how vibrations affect plant growth in microgravity. Using Wisconsin Fast Plants, known for their rapid life cycle, the student team created a controlled vibrational environment on the ISS to observe how the plants would respond.
Plants are sensitive to mechanical stimuli such as wind, touch, and vibrations. These forces influence root growth, stem strength, and even flowering patterns.
