What happens when you grow tomato seeds that have been to space? That’s what students across North America discovered through Tomatosphere 5, an educational project from the Canadian Space Agency. Seeds were exposed to space environments aboard the ISS and then sent back to classrooms. Students compared them with control seeds and observed germination rates and plant growth. This hands-on experiment sparked interest in space biology, plant science, and the challenges of growing food beyond Earth—an essential step for future space explorers!
