Agnirva Space Premier League - Expedition #32599: Monitoring the Caspian Crisis: Uragan - Prikaspy’s Eye in the Sky

The Uragan - Prikaspy project focuses on a specific region—around the Caspian Sea, known for its unique ecology and industrial activity. This area faces increasing environmental challenges, from oil spills to water level fluctuations, which can have disastrous impacts on local populations and ecosystems.

Using data from the ISS, Uragan - Prikaspy provides detailed imagery and sensor readings that help scientists detect environmental degradation in real time. The project combines satellite data with ground-based monitoring to better understand how human activity and natural events affect this delicate region.

This kind of monitoring is essential for creating sustainable solutions. By identifying pollution sources, tracking ecosystem changes, and forecasting hazardous conditions, the experiment supports decision-making for governments, NGOs, and industries alike. It’s a clear demonstration of how advanced science from space can inform local action.
