Agnirva Space Premier League - Expedition #32655: Can Your Voice Reveal Space Stress? The VOKALKORD Experiment

Can we monitor astronauts' well-being just by listening to their voices? That’s the core question behind the VOKALKORD experiment conducted during Expedition 70. Led by Dr. Gökhan Aydemir, this study evaluates how voice can be an indicator of stress, fatigue, and psychological strain during space missions.

Developed by Haliç and Nişantaşı Universities in Turkey, in collaboration with TÜBİTAK, VOKALKORD uses machine learning to analyze vocal patterns. In space, where conventional health monitoring tools may be cumbersome, voice analysis offers a non-invasive, continuous method for mental and emotional health tracking.

This experiment opens a new frontier in human research—using AI and audio technology to monitor health in extreme environments. The applications extend beyond space, potentially revolutionizing how stress and mental health are managed in high-stress occupations on Earth.
