Hello! Welcome to my profile. My name is Jasal Lucas. I am 18 years old, currently in my first year pursuing a degree in BSc. Computer Science.

I have enrolled in this internship to gain hands-on experience as to how to tackle real world industry related problems.

week1, day1:activity log

-description:

I have downloaded and installed Visual studio code and Git apps. I have also created my very own GitHub account as instructed.



week1, day2: activity log

-description:

  1. Written a python program that demonstrates variables and data types.

  2. Created a program that uses conditionals to check if a number is even or odd.

  3. Written and executed a for loop to print numbers from 1 to 10.

  4. Written and executed a for loop to calculate and print sum of the numbers from 1 to 10.

  5. Developed a program to calculate the area of a rectangle using user input.

    -challenges faced:

    Not knowing that certain extensions for python have to be installed along with visual studio code for the programs to run. solution: took help from google and youtube to download the necessary extensions.

  1. Understood what functions are and why they are important.

  2. Learnt how to define functions and work with parameters and return values.

  3. Explored and understood the concept of scope and how it affects variables.

  4. Built a practical program: A temperature conversion tool to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

  1. Understood the purpose and benefits of Git and version control.

  2. Learnt the basics of using Git commands such as init, add, commit, push, and pull.

  3. Created my first personal GitHub repository and uploaded a project to it.

    - challenges faced:

    As a learner who is using git for the first time, feeling as if there were gaps in the given instructions on how to use git commands. Not being able to navigate the files properly.

    -solutions implemented:

    Taking help from youtube and other available materials online to understand the concept properly.

    -additinal learnings:

    Learnt how to view the git log through a youtube video.
